Curtis went on to play for the Los Angeles Rams and the Miami Dolphins before retiring in 1973. He played for the Colts’ from 1970-71 which included their Super Bowl winning team. He also had a career total of 431 return yards off of interceptions that broke the NCAA record set in the 1940’s.Īfter college, Curtis was drafted in the 14 th round by the Baltimore Colts during the 1970 NFL Draft. He broke the University of Michigan’s record for interceptions in a game, season and career with none of them being broken. Curtis was then moved to the position of safety and played from 1967-69. He went on to attend the University of Michigan where he quarterbacked the all-freshman team.
